Ricardo Filipe Alves Martins (Ricardo Martins) was born in October 1984 in Portugal. He currently lives in Coimbra. Ricardo Martins received his MSc degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Coimbra in 2008 (several honors and awards). Since January 2014, he is a researcher at the IBILI-CNC (Institute for Biomedical Imaging and Life Sciences - University of Coimbra) and ICNAS-UC (Institute for Nuclear Sciences Applied to Health - University of Coimbra) developing biomedical engineering tools applied to cognitive neuroscience. Before joining IBILI-CNC, Ricardo Martins collaborated as researcher in EU-FP7 funded projects in the field of cognitive systems and robotics. In March 2017, as a partial-time student, Ricardo Martins earned his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Coimbra. He presented contributions to the development of artificial perception and decision systems applied in robotic haptic exploration and dexterous manipulation tasks.
